The United States of America is one of most influential countries in the world. Despite its relative young age, it has a massive influence in the world due to its political and economical importance. Many of its cities such as New YorkLas Vegas and Miami have featured in a whole range of movies. Some of its main sights such as the Empire state building and Golden gate bridge are famous throughout the whole world for its ground-breaking architecture. The country is to diverse to summarize it as simply as 'The States'. There is stark contract between the east and west coast in terms of culture and architecture. The states in between are less visited. One of the cities that stand out, even compared to the rest of the world is Las Vegas where gambling is one of the main attractions. The USA is also home to many famous national parks such as Arches national park, the Grand canyon and ' Monument Valley' which are unique in the world and offer some of the best natural scenery. The United states has a rich history as being home to the native Indians and many Europeans followed after Columbus discovered America. As a result, there are many European influences in the majority of the cities and many of them such as San Francisco and Boston still have colonial buildings. With the introduction of the skyscraper American cities have obtained their own unique look and feel. In terms of number of high-rise buildings, the largest US cities have been overtaken by many Asian cities, but some of the most recognizable skyscrapers, such as the Empire state building, Sears tower and the Trans-America pyramid are all in the US.
