Sightseeing in MoscowMoscow is the capital of Russia and home to the famous Red Square and the Kremlin. This city is Russia at its best and the different era's Moscow has been through can be seen here. The time of the Tsars is well represented in the Kremlin, but also there are several monasteries from that period. When communism arrived, a radical change in architecture took place including the skyscrapers built by Stalin, known as the seven sisters. Two of these include hotel Ukraine and the Moscow state university. The largest attraction of Moscow is the famous Red square which is surrounded by St. Basil's cathedral, GUM, the state history museum and the Kremlin. There is also a mausoleum dedicated to Lenin. A visit to the Kremlin is mandatory and in there you will find several churches and is probably the cleanest place in Moscow. Moscow has a uniquely decorated metro system and many stations have royal palace style decorations. The metro is largely in Russian, but with some practice easy to navigate. Nowadays the city has turned to capitalism with modern shopping centers and luxury stores can be seen everywhere. Culture has always been an important part of this city and it is well famous for its circus and ballet. This city is difficult to compare to any other city making it an unique experience when visiting this city although you might feel like a stranger sometimes.
