Exploring the scenery on Bali

The scenery and landscapes that are offered in Bali are one of the best in Asia. It is a mixture of agricultural land, natural forest, beaches, lakes and volcanoes. Normally agricultural land is not the most impressive, but on Bali this means massive rice fields and terraced rice paddies. Instead of big roads crossing them, there are many small paths of which most are only accessible by foot or bike and are used by local farmers. Because there are still many trees around in stead of fully cultivated land, the landscapes here provide some of the best scenery and is typically associated with Bali and Indonesia. There are still several forests around which consists of thick jungle. And because Indonesia is located on the 'ring of fire' there are volcanoes on the island. It is even possible to climb them.

Visiting all this scenery can be done in different ways. If you go to a place like Ubud, you can simply walk into the rice fields which are located just outside of town. There are several paths such as the Campuan ridge walk which take you to breathtaking places. For most places which a bit further away you will need some transportation. It is easy to rent a scooter for a day.

Alternatively you can join one of the day tours and they will visit some of the scenic viewpoints and other scenic attractions. These tours are well recommended as they save you the trouble of finding out where to go. There are some amazing rice terraces which you can view from the hills. On the most scenic points there are restaurants where you can have a lunch and enjoy the views at the same time. Some of the places where you really get to experience the best scenery of Bali include the Pacung rice terraces, the Munduk waterfall and around the lakes.
